Howdy All,

Well this week was what i like to call the "What have i gotten myself into?" week. So much has happened i don't even know where to start. My companion's name is Elder Castrejon. He is awesome. He is from california, can play the saxiphone?, played football and ran track, can speak spanish, english and is learning french, and apparently he has youtube videos or something... anyways we get along great.

We are working in the City of Victoriaville or as everyone says here Victo. The people that live here are from all over the place. Lots of quebecios, french, hispanic. The french that the people speak here is way different. I can pick up about half of what the french people say but when the natives speak i pick up about 2 or three words. They speak a mixture of french with a southern accent.  And if anyone talks fast i look at them and smile. Hopefully they didnt just tell me someone in their family died...

Oh and did i mention that my companion speaks Spanish. it turns out about half of the people that we teach about the church speak Spanish. During the French meeting i can say like one or two things and in the spanish lessons i sit there thinking "What have I gotten my self into". It looks like i might be picking up a little bite of spanish. hola

The members of the church here are super nice. We actually don't go door to door much at all. We teach referrals that come from members of the church or people that don't come to church as much. My companion actually has only been here for 4 months so he is just starting to feel comfortable in french. Im sure talking to us is very interesting.

Some interesting things about Quebec...

-The milk here comes in bags... yeah its like instead of milking the cow they just took off the utter.

-people actually do say eh

-At wedding receptions the people bang there forks and spoons on the table until the bride and groom kiss. They do this multiple times throughout the night.

-There is a delicious treat here called poutine. It is fries covered in gravy with cubes of cheese. Pretty sure it has 400000 calories in it but it tastes delicious. look it up!

Most interesting thing that happened was probably getting sneezed on by this guy that is kinda crazy. He isnt mentally stable but we visit him because lives by himself and needs help but anyways He sneaked and i felt a huge snot rocket hit my sleeve. My comp started laughing super hard but the sneezer didnt know what was happening so we said we were tired or something... yummmm dont worry i saved it so we could get a picture :)

Well, that was my first week. My head is kinda swimming with all the new stuff but hopefully i can start picking it up. Lots of good things to come! keep smiling and shaking peoples hands (that's about all i am capable of here haha well actually i am the backer upper (mission rule because so many missionaries hit stuff backing up there has to  be a backer uppers(i am a super good backer (i don't know if parentheses can be used like this))))

Love

-Elder Noel
