I think i leave september 3 or something. and dont worry about a calling card. They have them here!

I got you letter today about ym camp! I am sorry that you miss it. I know you miss it because you really put your heart into it. I guess you learned all you need to learn with that calling and you have something else to learn in a different one :) It was talked about yesterday how this church is a church of becoming. We should be contantly turning our hearts to God and increaseing or desire to serve or increasing our conversion to him. In other worlds repentance

I got a email from  Mckaye and Romney has a new car! What an amazing thing! Thank you for puting me on the temple role! I was able to go this morning and missed seeing the family. Wasnt the new film awesome! keep me posted on how the dentist goes :) and the girbels.... name them Ham and Milton :)

i sure love you mom! thanks for being so awesome and raising me to be obedient. It is such a blessing not having to worry about trying to follow rules or know how to take care of myself and stuff.

As far as mtc life goes nothing to excitng is happening. We are teaching our teachers who pretend to be investigators. One is a really accepting wanted to be baptized the second lesson and one is an atheist that we have to explain everything to. It sounds really easy until you realize that we do it in french. Which means the people we are talking to dont always understand and then we dont understand the questions they ask back so our lessons sometimes dont go so smooth. Last time i asked the atheist if we could pray. i said i would pray first and then she could pray second. She said something i didnt understand ( apparently she said okay sounds good) and my companion didnt know what i was asking her. So he started talking and she got really confused. hahahahh oh wellll good thing it is practice.

Our other investigator always changes out of his jacket and tie to get in the acting mode. So before we into teach him I sliped on his tie. When i walked in he was kinda confused and then complimented my tie. He actually ended up telling me to keep it and we just swapped :) But dont steal tiesss

I am really likeing it here though. the people are way nice and the teachers are awesome. The only things that frustrate me is people being distracting or not following the rules and when they try to teach us how to teach. I need to know how to teach but i get frustrated because i feel like it is all review and is just taking away from my french studying time haha but patience is a virtue right? In all honesty though the teachers are amazing and challenging us to do great things.

Love ya!

hey do you think you could do me a favor?? i have a companion named elder Choi from korea. He is the first korean missionary to go to africa. He just finished a year at byu idaho and he has already served the mandiorty time in the korean army. he is an amazing kid, really funny, smart, and spiritual. But because he lives in korea he doesnt ever get any letters. Could the family send him a letter? Just use my address and put his name on it! thanks!

Lets see...

This week has been good. The time is starting to fly by. Not sure if that is good or bad. i am excited to go but feel like i have so much to learn. Most days include about 6 hours of class room instruction and another 6 hours of personal/ companion/ district study. We study about half french and half spiritual topics and sometimes we talk about managing stress or other things that missionaries might be struggling with. I love the teachers here and my district is really starting to bond. We are usually pretty productive when we have a teacher but when we dont some times it gets a little off topic.

Every day we have about an hour of gym time. My companion is trying to get baraque or in english stronger. So we either lift weights or go shoot hoops. Before you guys know it i will be in the NBA. I do get pretty soar though. Luckily there is unlimited chocolate milk at meals. Weirdly we eat at 630 and 11 and 4 so at dinner i am never hungry and at bed time i want food.  But ya win some and you loose some.

The district leaders in my district got called up to zone leader so i am now the new district leader. Following the rules personally isnt that hard but getting six guys crammed in a 12by 12 room to follow all the rules might be more interesting. but i am excited. This past week we had about 20 elders and sisters leave the zone and this wednesday we get 40 new french speaking elders and sisters. Wahooooo

Besides that the MTC isnt that exciting. I saw elder shanklin and elder woodfield. Also shout out to the Svedins for sending me Donuts :)

Love

First letter from MTC

My companion is elder yan. he loves basketball and is from texas. He already speaks chinese and english. I am behind.... ahha french is harder than i thought. I am learning to not think about myself so much and study it for the people. Also i will need help from Christ. French is hard did i say that? We have tried teaching an investigator who really is just acting but most of the time we just read of a script or stare at eachother in silence. it is very frustrating because i feel like i have so much to say in enlish but in french all i am worried about is learning to talk.

Sure love ya!!
